My Experience at World Cup 2010

It is almost a week since World Cup has come to an end. Feeling blue? Absolutely! I really love football, especially to watch the World Cup Championship, though I can only watch it from TV. I even cried seeing the closing of last World Cup 2010. As it made sense no more waking up at midnight, no more chatting while waiting for a match, and especially no more matches to watch together with my family.

I like some teams to support, and I’ve been supporting England for about 8 years since World Cup 2002. I had a list here that I’ve made at World Cup 2006:
1st priority -> England
2nd priority -> Germany
3rd priority -> France
4th priority -> Spain and Netherlands
5th priority -> Asian and African Teams.
But when I saw the Germans’ performances at World Cup 2010, I was totally amazed that made me changing my list. So there was no England anymore at the first place to support. Germany replaced the first place and England became the second.

I also supported Spain to win every game at those last World Cups, but not for now because Spain have defeated Germany on semi-final match that finally brought Germany into the third place. Spain such made my hopes of Germany fading away. Once I had black looks on Spain, but then I realized of the sportsmanship. I was thinking that I have to concede their victory, then I did.

Before Spain won the semi-final match against Germany, I was actually really sure the Germans were going to be the winner of this year due to their-always-good-performance on all matches. Unfortunately, Spain had a luckier moment to beat Germany. Spain were in the pink continuing their struggle at the final-match against Netherlands, while Germany were blue in the face despite their defeat. Germany lost, but they did not see red. Ofcourse they turned green with envy to see Spain continuing for a final, but it didn’t become a red rag for them, and also for me.

At first, I didn’t know what to support at the final-match for it confronted between Netherlands and Spain. However, then I decided to support Netherlands because I have removed Spain from my list after they defeated Germany. And yeah it was such repeating Germany’s defeat. Spain won all over again, so they succeed to bring the World Cup for the first time. Again and again, it seemed like Spain made Netherlands’ dream coming undone, like they did before to Germany. But once again, these were just games. Games always have someone to win and someone to lose. And remember, lose a game doesn’t mean you are a loser, but it is the way a game always use to be. Spain is the world’s best of this year, I have to admit it! But still, Germany is always in my heart, and will always be the most proper team to support.

So here is my new list for the next World Cup:
1st priority -> Germany
2nd priority -> England
3rd priority -> France
4th priority -> Netherlands
5th priority -> Asian and African Teams.

Cheer! :)
